Each PAX device has its own batch. The typical setup for a PAX device is to automatically batch during the night at around 2 am. In order for the PAX device to batch automatically the device must be turned on and the BroadPOS app must be running. The BroadPOS app has the name of your processor on it so it should be something like Vantiv or TSYS but the icon should say PAX BroadPOS or BP. Touch this app to start it and then leave it running in the background.

If the PAX fails to close the batch automatically at night you can close the batch using the LinkPOS app.

Manually close the batch from the LinkPOS app

You can manually close the current batch at any time. This will complete all the transactions and then you will get a deposit overnight. Make sure all of your tips and orders without tips have been completed before closing the batch.

Touch the menu button in the upper left corner of the LinkPOS app.

Select the Term page and then touch the Close Batch button. If the Close Batch button does not exist then you will need to update the LinkPOS app to at least version 1.5. You will need to use the version of the app with the red background in the icon. The older versions with the black background do not have the ability to close the batch and you will need to use the BroadPOS app to close the batch. Instructions here.

The device will process for a while depending on how many transactions you have in the batch. A summary of the transactions will be displayed when it completes.

If there are no transactions since the last batch it will succeed but return a NOT FOUND message. This isn't an error. It just means there aren't any new transactions in the batch.

If any other message is returned then an error occurred and you will need to read the message to see why the batch did not close.
