In order for the scanner to communicate with the iPad register it has to be accessed over the local area network. This is accomplished by plugging the serial cable that comes with the Zebra scanner into a Serial-To-Ethernet device. Perle and Devolinx both make serial to ethernet devices that are compatible with LinkPOS. The Serial-To-Ethernet device is then plugged in to the local area network.
